Preston M. Cherouny is a dedicated leader and family man based in Washington, DC. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1965, and raised in Canton, Connecticut, Preston’s upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for community, family, and personal growth. A graduate of the Avon Old Farms School (1984) and Skidmore College (1988, B.A. in American Studies), he developed both discipline and a love for athletics, competing on Skidmore’s golf team and carrying that passion into adulthood as a member of the University of Maryland Golf Course. Professionally, Preston serves as Chief Operating Officer at St. John’s Church, where he has worked since 2017 in roles ranging from Financial Secretary to Interim Parish Administrator. His leadership reflects humility, patience, and persistence, emphasizing service to others and integrity in church administration. Beyond work, Preston is a proud husband to Merrell Redway, whom he married at St. John’s Church in 1993, and father to Grace and Hayden. His life centers on family, community involvement, and philanthropy, including gifts supporting teacher housing at Avon Old Farms and the University of Maryland Golf Course.
